بدأ التمثيل من عمر 11 عندما لاحظ ابواه قدرته على الغنء فدرس الغناء و الدروس ساعدته على او ظهورله في Gypsy"
و بعد ظهوره على المسرح في هذه الاعمال Peter Pan," "Auntie Mame", "Little Shop of Horrors"
"The Music Man حصلت له الفرصة بالظهور في المسلسلات كضيف في "Firefly" (2002), "ER" (1994),
The Guardian" (2001).
و بعدين استمر بالتمثيل في المسلسلات الى اني اخذ البطولة في عقد مع ديزني و هو فيلم high school musical
و اخذ الجائزة على هذا الفيلم الرااائع
